Fall Activity
Here’s a fun fall craft from Katie Taylor, CCLS, & our friends at Child Life On Call that is super simple to set up & uses medical play!
What you need:
- Leaves (or paper leaf cutouts)
- Sheet of Paper
- Tape
- Paint
- Cotton Balls
- Cotton Swab (optional)
- Syringe (optional)
Place a small loop of tape on the back of each of your leaves, then place them where you’d like them on your sheet of paper. Choose your paint colors & get to work showing your creativity! Let your painting dry, then peel away your leaves & marvel at your beautiful artwork!
When we were painting, we chose to use cotton balls, cotton swabs, & a syringe. Using medical supplies instead of a paintbrush gives your child an opportunity to normalize these items!
Pro tip: if using a syringe, you may need to mix in a little water to your paint.
Happy painting, & happy fall!
